Description

These Slide-Co spring-loaded Latch & Pull Assembly are constructed of plastic and come black in color. Latch & pull assemblies like these are used to replace damaged or missing latch & pull sets on 1/2 inch Anjac doors. This assembly features a short latch designed for 1/2 inch thick x 1-5/8 inch wide, screen doors and includes a security night lock. Slide-Co plastic pulls like this one require mortise assembly in sliding screen door frame. Each is non-handed allowing it to be installed on both left and right-handed sliding screen doors. This spring-loaded plastic lock & latch assembly has a shorter 3/16 inch hook latch designed to fit on Anjac doors.

The handle was exactly the same as the one that broke on the door, and was very easy to install. The locking mechanism inside the door was extremely difficult to position and install, and I am very good with tools. It took about one hour to get it to work correctly. This is not the fault of the item purchased, it is due to the original design. If your locking mechanism is still working, I would suggest leaving it in instead of trying to replace it with the new one. The other option is to not use the locking mechanism at all, it is not going to stop anybody that actually want to get through the screen door. My girlfriend has already asked me to remove it so she can more easily open the door.
